Language and International House

Open to students who want to live in a community with others residents who are interested in practicing or immersing themselves in a foreign language, inter-cultural appreciation, world events, and making a difference locally or globally. This residential community seeks to provide intentional learning opportunities to enhance each student's TCU experience with mentoring and faculty/staff interactions. This Living Learning Community will work closely with the International Student Council on programs and opportunities for students.

Goals for the Language and International House Living, Learning Community

Practice a foreign language skills with peers
Improve understanding of world events and their impact locally
Learn about other cultures and share information on your own
Integrate importance of global impact in the development as a student and a leader
Participate in community service opportunities
Provide increased opportunities to interact with faculty and staff
Understand TCU's Study Abroad Program

Language and International House Living Learning Community Programs

Community Leaders Luncheons
Living, Learning Community members will organize monthly luncheons with faculty/staff, and facilitate conversation about current world events.

Cultural Awareness Activities
Living, Learning Community members will lead reflective conversations about their culture and backgrounds in a safe, respectful environment. This could include field trips to local museums, international cooking nights, diversity programs, to watching films and discussing their impact.

Language Opportunities
Living, Learning Community members will have opportunities to use their language skills with other residents and during faculty/staff educational and social programs.

Community Service Opportunities
Living, Learning Community members will identify and participate in service projects in the Fort Worth area that may impact the global community.

Study Abroad Opportunities
Learn the ins and outs of what is needed to successfully study abroad.
