
FIG Descriptions
Education (CLK)
The Education FIG is conveniently located in the newly renovated Clark Hall just adjacent to the Education building, Betsy and Steve Palko Hall. As a part of this community, you will live with 20-25 other students who have either decided to major/minor in education or who are interested in education as a possible career. Not only will you live with these students, but you will also be in the same Connections course giving you the opportunity to share in both academic and social activities.

WISH – Women in Science and Health (FOS)
If you are a female student who has decided to major/minor in a science or health discipline or if you’re just considering these areas of study as an option – this is the community for you! As a part of the WISH FIG, you will both live in Foster Hall on a wing with 20-25 women and register for the same Connections course. In this community you will explore health and science in the classroom, have the ability to continue those discussions in the hall, and build relationships with women who have similar interests as you.

Service & Learning (FOS)
Whether community service and involvement has always been a part of your life or if you are interested in getting started now, the Service FIG is waiting to get you involved! As a part of this community you will live with 20-25 other students in Foster Hall who share a passion for serving others and your community. You will also be grouped together in the same Connections course to further enrich your TCU experience. Working closely with TCU’s Center for Community Involvement, you will have the opportunity to explore classes that are rooted in service learning, become involved in service projects as a group, and simply enjoy hanging out with those who enjoy some of the same things you do. This is a perfect way to get plugged into the TCU and local community and a way to get excited about FrogHouse – a service project that TCU students may take on their Junior year! <Link to FrogHouse>

Business (FOS)
The Business FIG is for students who are interested in any of the business disciplines, wanting to apply to the Neeley School of Business, or who may be considering a minor in business. In this community you will both live with 20-25 other students who have similar academic interests in the field of business and be grouped in the same Connections course. By taking a shared course together, you will have the opportunity to engage in conversations with your friends back in the FIG about what you’re learning in the classroom, which may turn into potential study groups. You will have insider-information on the most popular business professors and courses at TCU, gain information about groups such as the Business Fraternity Delta Sigma Pi and TCU CEO, and attend Speakers at Neeley as a group.
Honors (CLK)
The Honors House is an extension of the Honors Program where students live and learn together in Clark Hall. Honors students have access to some of the most exciting instructors and courses offered at TCU, and your peer leaders will help you find ways to be successful in the Honors program. Maybe you want to get involved with the Honors Cabinet or Council, or you are interested in qualifying for University Honors by taking four Honors Colloquia courses. Whatever your aspirations, living with your Honors peers can help you achieve your goals, beginning in your freshmen year.

Spirit and Traditions (FOS)
The Spirit and Traditions FIG is a great opportunity to learn all about what makes TCU so special! Ever wonder why our mascot is the Horned Frog? Was TCU always in Ft. Worth? This FIG will explore the history of TCU and the many ways students can become legends in their own right through their tenure at TCU> Students who laughed at the skit in orientation, made long-lasting relationships at Frog Camp, or those who do not want to experience all of the college “firsts” alone will love this wing. Whether you are from down the street or across the sea, Spirit and Traditions is a great opportunity to get acclimated to TCU Horned Frog Spirit! This community will also be housed in Foster Hall and will be grouped in the same Connections class together.

Pre-Health (FOS)
The Pre-Health FIG is open to aspiring physicians, dentists, optometrists, veterinarians, and other health related careers in this vein. Students in this FIG are encouraged to register for Gen Chem 10113 with Dr. Neilson if possible. The community members will also be placed in the same Connections class. Members of this FIG will have the opportunity to interact with faculty inside and outside the classroom, create study groups to help each other through the rigorous course work, and make friends along the way.

Leadership 1.0 (FOS)
The Leadership 1.0 FIG, housed in Foster Hall, is the first part in a two-year living and learning leadership experience on campus! It is open to men and women who want to utilize their unique strengths to most effectively serve as a student leader at TCU and beyond. Participants are encouraged to learn about their strengths and further develop their leadership skills. Significant focus will be given on how to use those strengths in finding various future leadership opportunities on campus and in the halls. Moreover, a Resident Assistant will live on their wing and facilitate leadership development using personal experiences as a leader at TCU. These community members will also be grouped together in the same Connections class.
Creativity and the Performing Arts (WAT)
The Creativity and the Performing Arts FIG is conveniently located in Waits Hall, which is right next to the music and theater buildings, and has music practice rooms in the basement of the building. This FIG is for all types of performing arts; dance, theater, voice performance, and music. This community will be one filled with movement, music, creativity, and most of all - fun! All community members will be in the same Connections class.
