The Resident Assistant Position offers a diversity of experiences and responsibilities for our staff. Each Resident Assistant serves an imperative role in the residence halls and is an integral piece of the development of our incredible residential communities. In short, our Resident Assistants do the following:

Develop Community

Our Resident Assistants develop community through a commitment to building relationships, creating engaging programming and fostering a positive, supportive environment for our community members. Utilizing a comprehensive programming model Resident Assistants create both educational and social programs that assist community members in developing the skills and relationships necessary for a healthy experience in and beyond college.

Build Relationships

Building relationships with and between our community members is an essential aspect of the residential living experience, and a primary responsibility of the Resident Assistant. Using both programs and individual interactions our Resident Assistants create connections and build life long relationships that ultimately help to support and sustain every member of the community.

Provide Administrative and Building Support

Resident Assistants provide support through assisting in both the opening and closing of our residence halls, working at the front office and participating in a duty rotation. Each week Resident Assistants attend staff meetings, receive on going training throughout the semester and participate in monthly staff developments. Each Resident Assistant provides essential support to the community as well as the Office of Residential Services.
