Honors House



As a member of TCU's premiere Living Learning Program, you will find the varied curriculum to be challenging, stimulating and highly interdisciplinary, no matter your desired major. Living in honors housing will complement a variety of first-rate academic opportunities. Honors housing will offer an array of co-curricular functions intended to foster interaction among membersof all areas of the University. Honors House Living Learning Community Programs

 

Career Panel

Living Learning Community members will invite University Career Center and faculty members to speak on career search, resume development and networking.

 

 

Luncheons with Professors

Living Learning Community members will work to invite faculty to have a meal/coffee with the LLC on monthly basis. This program would encourage the students to interact with professors on a more personal level.

 

 

Professor led panels

Living Learning Community members will work to organize a faculty led panel on current events or events of interest in the particular LLS.  The Student Leader and Resident Assistant are encouraged to invite various faculty and staff to join the panel.

 

 

Hall Debate

Living Learning Community members will work with University  Partners to organize a panel discussion featuring professors specializing various majors. The topics of the discussion can be current news or looking at a particular question or dilemma from the perspective of the professors involved. In addition, students and faculty can discuss deeper philosophical questions, such as “What is knowledge?” “What is truth?” “How do we go about acquiring /finding  truth and knowledge?” and others.

 

 

Balance discussions and activities (Yoga/Meditation/Time management)

Living Learning Community members are encouraged to invite university speakers to discuss the search for balance and its necessity for scholars. LLC members will discuss time management skills, and invite university leaders to speak with the LLC residents about importance of time-management in pursuit of scholarship.
